Pre-Run/Bike

Courses will be open for pre-run/bike on Thursday July 17th and Friday July 18th from 3pm-8pm. While there will be volunteers and signs placed there to help guide you, ultimately you are responsible for knowing your course.  Please come prepared and please pre-bike and pre-run the course.

Note: Race will not be fully marked until Friday afternoon.

Parking and Shuttles

Athletes are encouraged to use Kivi Park’s Parking Lots 2 through 7, located on Raft Lake Rd. The main Kivi Park Parking Lot located at the main gate will be limited to race personnel, EMS, special event, and Kivi Park Members. There will be volunteer parking attendants directing you into the most appropriate parking lot.  ALL shuttles will depart from Kivi Park’s Parking Lot #2.

***Please note that for all multi-sport athletes (off-road triathlons and duathlon races) your race begins at Crowley Lake, not Kivi Park. There will be no drive-in access to Crowley Lake given the tight confines of the road past 7am. Athlete Shuttles and Bike Shuttles to the race start will begin at 7:00am from Kivi Park’s Parking Lot #2, located on Raft Lake Rd.  Athletes wanting to warm up may bike into Crowley Lake.  Please make sure you know where you are going for race morning and plan to arrive early.

Bike Drop-Off

While there will be room for both athletes and bikes to be shuttled to Crowley Lake on race morning, we do strongly suggest that athletes take advantage of the XTERRA Conquer the Crater: Bike Drop-Off option, where bikes will be stored in secured locked Sea-Cans overnight. Bikes must be onsite and racked between 3pm-8pm on Friday July 18th at Crowley Lake to take advantage of the overnight drop off. Access to Crowley Lake will be closed by locked gates at 8pm and there will be security on site throughout the night to protect your gear.

Check-In

Check-In will occur at Crowley Lake.  Once you get dropped off, proceed to the Check-In Table, where you will receive your timing chip and body numbering. What To Expect On Course

We are constantly striving to make our event as green and nature-friendly as possible – which can only be done in partnership with our athletes. We expect our athletes to be mostly self-sufficient, but we are not going to leave you all alone to battle the elements.

Medical Support

Our race boasts one of the world’s safest events, with a team of medical professionals, and additional EMS support. There will be medical teams located strategically throughout the course to provide assistance should anything unfortunate occur.

Aid Stations

Water and Fuel will be located at T1, T2 and at the Finish-Line, as well as aid stations strategically located along the race bike route at 3km and 15km and at the 3km and 7.5km along the Run Course. You will know you are getting close to an aid station when you hear the music pumping through the trees. Athletes can make arrangements to use the aid stations as Feed Stations and swap out your gear on the fly.

Bike Sweeps

There will be bike sweeps following each of the events final participants along the courses; just to provide that extra little bit of motivation.

Finish Line

Athletes will finish in an open field with plenty of room for last chance passing and sprinting.
